Please pick\nup your scorecards at the golf course desk on Thursday nights before the match starts.\nTeam pairings and handicaps will be posted on the window next to the golf course desk\nand on the Golf App. Handicaps are not posted during the first week; they are determined\nafter the scores are entered into the database using an adjusted average handicap system\,\nlike the NCGA handicap system.\nHandicaps will be used in this league and calculated by the League software\, Golf Genius.\nScores must also be entered into the App Software. Therefore\, at least one team member\nmust be logged into the app to record scores on each match day. If any technical issues\narise\, physical scorecards will be available and should be submitted to the Twin Creeks\npro shop for entry into the Golf Genius App Software.\nEach player will be asked to fill out a Google Form to notify First Tee of interest in playing in\nthis league. As the first day of league play approaches\, each player will be sent a link to\nregister their team and players on Golf Genius App.\nEach round is a 2-man team match play format. The average score between teammates\nwill be counted as the team’s overall score for the week.\nEach week only 2 members of a team will play; opponents and starting holes will be\nrandomized. Live scoring and chat features will be used within the league page. Posting in\nthe chat is encouraged but please keep all chats professional. Posting photos is also\nencouraged before\, during and after rounds.\nThe format: The season is 15 weeks starting May 22nd and ending on August 28th.\nThe format is two-person match play.\nScoring System:\n• For Each Hole:\nWin: 1 point\nTie: ½ point\nLoss: 0 points\n• For the Match:\nWin: An additional 2 points\nTie: 1 point\nLoss: 0 points\nPlayoffs and Special Events:\n• The top 4 teams will advance to a playoff during the year-end tournament.\n• To add variety\, we will host three special format days:\no Two-person scramble\no Three-club tournament\no Two-person Scotch or another format to be determined.\nEach of these mini-tournaments will feature a first-place prize\, which will be awarded at\nthe year-end tournament. Additionally\, we’ll host Margarita nights throughout the year\,\ntypically on tournament nights.\nHandling No Shows and Byes:\n• Teams that do not show up or have a bye will receive zero points for that week.\n• If a team is uncontested (i.e.\, their opponents do not show up)\, they must still play\nthe round to earn points. Their scorecard will be submitted as usual\, and a\ncomputer-generated “ghost” player will be used to determine the points they earn\nfor that round.\nEnd of Season Tournament and BBQ:\nTournament: Saturday Morning August 30\, 2025. Exact time TBD\nTournament Format:\n• Low Net Score: Team members with the lowest net score will win prizes. (Prize\ndetails and further information will be provided later.)\nLocal Rules and Pace of Play Tips for Weekly Matches:\n• Fast Pace of Play: It’s crucial to maintain a fast pace to ensure the game finishes\nbefore it gets dark.\n• Rules:\no NCGA rules apply\, with the following exceptions:\n▪ The maximum score on a hole is double par\, unless critical.\n▪ Winter rules apply throughout the summer.\n▪ A 6-inch bump is allowed anywhere except in sand traps or on greens.\n▪ Gimme putts are encouraged to speed up play. If your opponent\nconcedes a putt\, count it as one stroke and pick up your ball. (Note:\nGimme putts are not allowed during the year-end tournament.)\n▪ Lost Ball: Normally\, you have 3 minutes to find a lost ball\, with a\nstroke and distance penalty. For our league\, to speed up play\, you\nmay drop a new ball where you think it was lost\, add a two-stroke\npenalty\, and continue.\n▪ Ready Golf: Play out of turn if safe and ready\, to keep the game\nmoving quickly.\n▪ Safety: Yell “fore” if there’s a risk of hitting someone with your ball.\n▪ Etiquette: Do not step on another player’s line on the green.\nProcedures for All Match Days:\n1. Weekly Team Pairings: I will email the team you are playing against each week\,\nalong with the standings and handicaps after the second week.\n2. Check-In at the Course:\n• Pay green fees.\n• Pick up your scorecard.\n• Check the pairing and handicaps posted outside the pro shop.\n• Purchase refreshments and merchandise if desired.\n3. Starting Procedure:\n• Your scorecard will indicate your starting hole\, which should match your\npairing list.\n• Arrive at your starting hole about 5 minutes before start time.\n• We use a Shotgun Start:\ni. If more than 18 teams are playing\, start times will be staggered.\nii. Groups labeled ‘A’ start first; ‘B’ groups start second.\n4. During Play:\n• After each hole\, record your scores in App.\n• If you’re struggling on a hole\, you may pick up after reaching double par\n(continue if it impacts competition).\n• At the round’s end\, compare total points with your opponent to determine\nthe match winner: 2 points for a win\, 1 for a tie\, and none for a loss.\n5.
